Two years after inception, Teach Children to Save South Africa (TCTS SA) is now endorsed as a Proudly South African programme. As of Thursday, 3 September 2009 the TCTS SA programme received a stamp of approval that symbolises the importance of national pride in our achievements, products and programmes.

The Teach Children to Save South Africa programme has successfully allowed for collaboration in the banking industry consumer education space which is otherwise positioned as competitive. This year the programme empowered about 71 000 learners in over 400 schools nationwide through the overwhelming participation of 13 banks and 27 financial sector institutions.

Proudly South African is the “buy local” campaign launched in 2001 by government, organised business, organised labour and community organisations (the constituencies represented in the National Economic Development and Labour Council – Nedlac) to boost job creation and pride in “local” by promoting South African companies and their ‘homegrown’ products and services.
